Family Time

So my girls came home this weekend. I can not even begin to tell you how happy that makes me. This is the longest time I have ever been away from my girls. It was a great weekend packed with lot of activities and memories. We also had harvest fest which is one of the busiest outreach that the church does and I over it. So this was by far the busiest weekend ever. I took lots of pictures so I'm going to begin the story starting with Friday night before the girls got here.

Trunk or Treat at Woodmen Valley

We had a great time and the church did an amazing job reaching out to the community and the Livingston's. The Julian's invited us to come out so took them up on their offer. I expected to be so busy at MPC Harvest Fest that I wanted to spend time with my kiddo's before Sunday. it turned out to be a great choice.

Garden of the gods

Saturday was super fun. I finished up with my shopping for Harvest fest and then off to the Garden of the gods with my family plus 6 extra college students.  We had a great time.

Carving Pumpkins

Then Saturday night David went to the store and purchased a pumpkin for everyone to carve.   Some of the boys had never carved pumpkins and some had not done it since 2nd grade.  The Livingston's on the other hand do it every year.  It was fun watching them.

Sunday

We all went to service on on Sunday and then got ready for Harvest Fest.

It was an amazing weekend with amazing family time.  It was good good good to be together.  Pictures will follow in the next posts.

So I'm trying to figure out how to post from my iPad. This is just a test.

Lollipop tree

Harvest Fest is right around the corner and I have a ton of things still to do. I have been trying to get things organized for the past 2 weeks. There was a couple of items that I really wanted this year and I got one of them delivered to me on Monday.
I got a beautiful lollipop tree made for me. We have an amazing guy at church who has an incredible gift. He works with wood and can take an ordinary piece of wood and make it into something amazing. For my birthday I received the most beautiful desk. On Monday I got a lollipop tree for harvest fest. Thanks Mr MG you're the best.
We still have to paint the tree so I will post pictures later.

The Call

So today the call came.  The call that I knew would come but I always wondered when. 

 I will leave out all names to protect the innocent.  

What call am I talking about? The call from one of my girls telling me that some boy is wanting to court her.  

Now when I grew up courting meant that you were just dating someone.  My girls have chosen a road far different then mine...praise God.  Instead of dating every boy that asked them they wanted to wait until they felt God was telling them that a particular boy might be the one.  

If while courting this young man they feel at anytime that he is not the one.  She can break it off but since you don't just date to date you make sure that this person meets the qualities that she has listed.

Well, I'm not sure about all the qualities this young man has but he has the approval so far of 2 of her sisters.  They both like him very much and have given the thumbs up.

Now this thumbs up does not come as quickly from dad :)  He is really wanting to meet this young man.  

As for me...well, its really hard to let your kids go to college and it's even harder to let them grow up and let a young man like them.
