New Year

Wow what an amazing, busy year it has been.

The last day of 2016 is here.  We have had so many amazing things happen to our family.  Our family added a new grand baby.  Noah Matthew was born on November 5th.  He entered the world already spoiled, well loved.  He came out looking exactly like his momma.  Matt and Kristie are amazing parents and while Noah was not part of their 5 year plan they would not change anything.

Jelissa got married to a man that we have grown to love like a son.  It was a beautiful small wedding. While Jelissa was a very beautiful bride, Rylee stole the show.  It was the first time in years that I was  in the same place as all of my children.  I loved every moment of it.  Unfortunately Matthew was unable to make it.  We did get a few great pictures.  Julien and Jelissa are doing great.  Julien is an amazing dad to Rylee.  We could not ask for a better man to raise our grand daughter.

While there was so many things that happened this year most of them were happening with our older kids.  Another great thing that happened is Lakeisha got engaged.  Titus, Keisha's fiance is an amazing guy that we love.  He is in the military and loves  Keisha very much.  They are planning to get married on May 27th and we are excited to join them in the celebration.

The Little's have done nothing but grow-grow-and grow.  They have come through so much this year. They continue to amaze me every day.  I am surprised that we get to raise them, love them and teach them about Jesus.  They are like little sponges.  Everyday they teach me how to be more like Jesus.

Our life is filled with so many blessing from the Lord.  We are excited to see what the Lord is going to do in our life in 2017.

One Little Word

One Little Word
It can change a life.  It can change the way someone lives.  I think about words that have changed me.....

1.  Wife
2.  Mother
3.  Saved
4.  Grace

You get the point.

This year I decided to pick a word.  One single word that I would pray about, meditate on, bring into my life like a close friend.

I prayed about a word.  I asked God to show me what He wanted me to concentrate on this year.  Several words and scriptures came to mind but not until late one night did I know for sure what it would be.

Intentional

In·ten·tion·al (adj.) 1. Done deliberately; intended. 2. Characterized by conscious design or purpose
1 Timothy 4:15-16
15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Oh, how I want to be a women of intention.  A women of purpose.  I want to live my life doing things and only those things that have meaning/purpose.

My God is intentional, My God has purpose for everything He does.  I want to be more like Him this year.  I want my life to be deliberate.

So I have made a journal specifically about my word.  I will use it to journal about ways I see God teaching me to be intentional, with my husband, with my children, with those I come in contact with.    I will bring this word into my home, and into my days.  I will look at what I do and why I do them and cut those things that don't have a purpose.  I want to live diligent in the things that matter.

Have you ever chosen a word for the year?
What do you think about the idea of living that is purposeful, intentional?
